Hello everyone.

From July 2005 to May 2006 - I held a position in a company

From May 2006 to March 2008 - I held higher position in the same company (promoted from the previous one)

From March 2008 - presently - I am working for another company (I am one of the founders)

My question is: Can I have maximum pints for work experience if I submit application in August 2009?

One more thing. I have been working for a company (as a student - I graduated May 2006) but without a contract (because I was a student). However I can provide Letter of Recommendation from this company with a Business Card of the General Manager. Does this count or not?

Thank you very much for the help.

You can mention as more as Experience years, but Important is that did you spend at least 1 year holding same occupation which its mentioned in list of Category 1.

Experts, please guide our fellow on it bit more.

I am aware of this, but my question is can I claim 21 points for work experience in my situation?

My understanding is: You fill the form to your best knowledge and understanding. You may claim 21 points, but i think you will have to verify, satisfy and prove this to the IMMIGRATION OFFICER in-charge of your case via requested documents or any other means acceptable to the IO handling your case.

"This test is only to give you an idea of whether you will qualify as a skilled worker. A Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) officer will make a decision about your application based on the information you provide."

BobbyB, according this (I've read this many times) I can claim 21 points for work experience. Am I right or not?

Buddy,
U can claim the points you want but like I said my understanding is you will need to prove it via documents. And if u can and have all the documents, then WHY NOT?.
Of course, when you fill the form you need to write down the date's and the NOC anyway including your responsibilities, so that will give you a rough idea of what you will be claiming anyway.

NOTE: THAT THE NOC u claim the experience in, is very Important.(Ministerial List)

Bobby is very much right,

Let me tell you in more details.

You should calculate your point as according to Experience Letters/Contracts you can submit when they ask for it.

If you have experiences but no proof in written by your Employer/Employers your points cant be valid, Write what you can prove later on in documents.

Hope you are clear.

I can prove every single day of my work experience (contracts, letters of employment etc) for the two years while working as a student, I can provide letter of recommendation from the employer.
