Work Experience Validity

Good day,

I had 3 years and 7 months continuous foreign work experience between 2 companies,starting from January 2013 to August 2016. From the last information I've read, the express entry only takes into account work experience from the last 10 years. Does that mean that my work experience is only eligible to be included until 2023 or until 2026? Does the validity count start from the start date or the end date?

*I am currently doing PhD and have just finished my MS which is why the gap.

Depends on when you apply
If you apply in or before Jan 2023, your work experience from Jan 2013 onward will be counted.
To meet the minimum 1 year requirement, you need to apply no later than Aug 2025 where your work experience from Aug 2015 - Aug 2016 would still be valid.

If you want to get credit for all 3 years, you would need to submit your eAPR (which comes AFTER submitting a profile and getting an ITA, if you plan to apply through express entry) you would need to apply by the end of July 2023.

Does the validity count start from the start date or the end date?
10 years back from the date you actually submit the eAPR.
