Work experience requirement

I have been working on my cec application. I have been under the assumption based on this site .cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-who.asp that 12 months work experience is required to apply for PR under CEC. Today I read the operation manual for CEC and it specifies 24 months work experience. .cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op25-eng. Pdf so I am not sure what to think.

Your first assumption is correct! You need only 12 months of work experience to be eligible under CEC. This is the new rule. I believe you read the old bulletin (which does not apply for new applicants).

You are mistaken. ??? This is what requirement says to be eligible: "You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience". Check out at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-who.asp

There are currently 2 manuals for CEC class applications, you read the one for the old program requirements. Effective January 2, 2013, a new set of requirements was released, along with a new manual -OP 25-A. For any application submitted after Jan 2, 2013, this new manual applies.
