Hey guys ,

I added only my current employment under work experience before getting ITA. Now I have added all the previous work experience after getting ITA because my lawyer insisted on it as it needs to be in consistent with personal history section. But now the problem is although I do not claim points for the past 2 work experience I need to submit the reference letters with job duties. But unfortunately the reference letters in previous work experience do not contain Job duties. Will this cause any issue ?

Your lawyer is an idiot.

Only include the employment(s) for which you claimed points - everything else in the personal history section.

Fire your lawyer and do it yourself.

Yes that was my initial but my lawyer wants to include all the experience to be on the safer side :( I am very much confused as my previous experience do not list any duties. Will this cause any issue ?

If he's recommending such thing then I would recommend for you to fire him.

Please also share who this lawyer is so other ITA hopefuls know who to avoid. :P

The consultant I had hired (until I dumped them) had also mentioned to me to include all the work experiences. When i told them I cannot get references from old jobs they asked me to get supporting docs like pay slips n all. But they were pretty much stubborn on including all the work history irrespective of CRS points, which left me confused and worried about getting all those docs.

This forum has been a great source of information. I too included my previous work history in my profile. I received a respond from my previous employer that due to length of time they no longer kept record of my employment.

Luckily I'm still at the pre ITA stage so I'm able to take that out. Got some points deducted but it'll save me the headache later on.

I don't think hiring a consultant is still practical. Everything in CIC website is self-explanatory.

Hi All,

I have one query regarding Employment Reference Letter.

Could you please let me know if I need to put NOC in the Employment Reference Letter? If yes, I will ask my employer to do so.

Will appreciate if you could let me know asap. Thanks

Regards
Kazi

Do your payslips show hours worked? Your contract?

If they are not comfortable writing exact working hours eg. Mon-Fri 9-5, then ask them to write number of hours per week.
