I submited my EE profile and received an ITA under CEC.
In the work experience section, I claimed two jobs: one year of Canadian experience and two years of foreign experience. My foreign experience job was from September 2007 to August 2010- almost less than 3 years so I claimed experience from September 2007 to July 2010 to trigger only two years of experience. I got points for two years.
When I asked my previous employer for a letter of reference, they stated in the letter that I worked from April 2008 to August 2010. For some reason, this was a job in the public sector and although I was working full time from September 2007, the official appointment was signed in April 2008!
The employer is willing to add a note in the letter explains that I was working full-times during the period September 2007 to April 2008 without an official contact. I am not sure if this is a great idea. I think it might be better to have a typical reference letter with the official dates as the employer suggests.
1. Should I cancel the invitation, update the profile, and submit again? Because of the changed dates in my foreign worker experience.
2. Should I just change the work history on my profile to match the reference letter and apply using the same ITA? Since the total number of points should not be affected by the changed dates.
3. If I do #2, in the personal history section, should I state that I worked in this job for the total period or only that is matching the letter? If I match the letter, what should I say about the remaining period?
Thanks for your help!
