Do I need work experience letter from my current employer even if am not claiming points for it.

No. You don't have to substantiate anything that you're not claiming (or getting) points for in your application.

Thanks Asivad,

Reason I asked is when am uploading my document and I press the information button by Employment Records it states

"Document: Employment Records

You must provide proof of work experience for your current job and for each past position you listed. Proof must include a reference letter from your employer and pay stubs, if you have them. The reference letter must"

Should this be ignored? I entered my current job under personal history not work experience.

Thanks in advance

I cannot know for sure, but I think it's better to be safe and include it anyway.

You can lie to your employer and say that you need for another purpose if you don't want to tell them that you are leaving them for Canada.

Yes. CIC isn't recruiting you for them to be worried about gaps in your resume. Prove exactly what you are claiming points for in your application. If you aren't claiming points for your current job, that can be safely left out from work history section.
