Hello

Maybe anyone could tell me if working at close relatives company could raise some red flags when applying for CEC?

I'm currently studying (1 year done in 2yr program), and looking at my options in the work field. My sister has a company and she is willing to employ me after my graduation, but I'm not sure if that would be ok with CIC ?

Any opinions welcome! Thanks

It should be Ok, as long as the pay you with a proof of PAy stub and pay all the applicable taxes by them

yes it should be ok. they just might ask you for your T4, pay stub, or notice of assessment...

It might raise some curiosity and they might ask for additional proof, but if your sister's company is a legitimate (registered) business and the job is real, it should be OK. The company will have to make appropriate statutory deductions, and provide you with T4 statements every year. Normally, pay stubs are not a required document, but it might be a good idea for you to save them.

One person was recently asked to provide proof of a business's existence... ! But if your paperwork is in order, then I can't see how there would be grounds for refusal.

Whether or not it's a good idea to work for your sister, that's another matter :)

Thank you for your answers!
