Hi all,

Okay, a bit of what I think is catch-22... :(

How many years experience do I list in the EE application? E.g. the past 5 years, an IT manager at various senior levels? Or all the way from the beginning when I was IT engineering and design (different NOC code)?

The problem with listing all the way from my first employer from 17 years ago is that some are non longer in operation, or have been acquired, or merged! = Work Experience certificate is very basic that I have!

But these are valid experiences nevertheless, = valid in a CV/ while applying via job bank.

It would be odd to have just past five years in EE and 17 years in Job Bank, would it not?

Ideally you show job experience for which you are claiming points. CIC awards points for years of experience which maxes out at 10 years (I may be wrong). Claim points/Show proof for the last 10 years of your employment and you should be good.

Okay, show job experience for which claiming points. Done.

How about the discrepancy that shows up on jobbank.gc.ca?

You need roughly 420-430 points to get into the next draw (I could be wrong). The higher the points, the better of course. So list as much as you can during the past 10 years as long as you can get experience letters that satisfy the requirements.

You can show all your work experience in the job bank profile if you like.. job bank's only function is to help you secure a job offer.. It has no effect on the points you're claiming from your pre-existing work experience. I wouldn't worry about discrepancy...
