Hey

Not sure if this has happened to anyone, I have done my one year work experience in Canada but it started June 2017 - almost three years ago now and work has to be in the previous three years. I was hoping to get invited before then but with the uncertainty with the draws thanks to the current climate I'm a bit worried. In my mind I've kinda accepted that for example if I got invited to apply July 1st 2020 it would only count as 11 months skilled work, would this be correct? I am hoping my whole time at the company wouldn't be erased just because the first month is over 3 years old...any help would be wonderful!

Yes - that's correct. You would need to recieve ITA in May or early June (before your work experience is over three years old) in order to claim the Canadian work experience points.

If you receive ITA in July, you cannot claim points for having 1 year of Canadian work experience since you will no longer have 12 months of work experience within the last 3 years.

Your time with the company is not erased, you just won't be able to claim the Canadian work experience points since you will no longer meet the requirements if you receive ITA in July.

Why did you wait this long to apply?

You should have applied the moment you completed your 1 year of Canadian work experience.
