Dear Experts
Just a your thoughts on this. I am on closed WP. I got a reference letter from my employer. However just need a small information on how the VO calculates the 12 month experience.

My Reference Letter is dated Dec-10-2013. It states the END Date as "Till Date" . So would Visa Office freeze the data as DEC-10th or the date he receives the application package.

Please share in your thoughts

1. 10/12/13, you could have quit or been fired the next day. So for 1 year, you would have to been employed in a skilled position, since 10/12/12

@ PMM. Thanks. I am still employed. But wanted to understand the date the VO would take for consideration. Because i was on implied status for a few months(due to work permit extention)

Work experience under implied status will not be counted against CIC work experience.. Your work experience will be counted from the date of issue on your work permit...

In short, if date of issue on your WP is Jan 03 2013 or earlier you can apply now...

Check out this thread for more information on working under implied status:

@new_guy: I have had friends who got their PR, where their work experience under implied status was taken into account. Can you please point me to some reliable source which says work experience under implied status wouldn't be taken into account.

@PMM: the link you shared is the source of my concern. I was under implied status(eventually my WP extention got approved). However even if i ignore this duration(implied status), i will meet the eligibility if the "Application Received Date" is taken into account. If the "Employment Reference Letter" is taken into account, then i would run into issue.

Please advice on what date would be taken

Guys be careful before you write stuff cus you can confuse people. As long as you prove you were under implied status then it should be included. If you read the OP and also the IRPR, it clearly states the type of work without a valid work permit that is valid for PR applications, and implied status is one of them.

The guy that was refused in the other thread posted in a separate thread that he will reapply and not appeal. He did also say his lawyer said he has a case for appeal, but that process could be longer so he decided against it.

If you applied for your new work permit before the old one expired, and if your new work permit was approved, your implied status is legit, don't worry about that.

Your letter of experience must cover the required work experience. If the letter is short by 2 weeks, then you don't meet the requirement. It has to be written after you work the full year. So after you complete your 12 months of work experience, you'll have to ask your boss for a new letter with a new date -
