work exp date format and other questions urgent

company x - sept 21 ,2015 till jun 2, 2016
company y - july 6 2016 till date

so does this equal to 1 year of experience

also in work exp letter date format should be DD/MM/YYYY or MM/YYYY

Is it Canadian or foreign work?
