Work and Student Visa

My local company wanted me to work in their Canada office and and I got Closed LMIA-exempt Work Permit for 3 years but the Canada project is no more so the visa is pretty much useless for me, so now if I apply for student visa will it be a problem for me ? Will the embassy think I’m desperate to enter Canada ?
