I asked the border guard if I could laminate my Visa when she printed it out and she said "yes". She was mistaken because I have had so many negative comments since. They said they don't know if its fake or real and now they have to look it up everytime I cross to make sure its legitimate. I have secondary questioning everytime I cross and I have to go back and forth every two weeks for my kids visitation with theie dad in the states. I just wanted to protect it from coffee spills, etc. They won;t print me out a new one either.

so split the laminated plastic and take it out.Laminating only seals to the edges of itself not the paper so take it apart.

You could always try steaming it apart with the steam from a boiling kettle but you run the risk of damaging the document itself. I am sorry for your predicament. It is difficult and time consuming so I thank you for posting the warning.
