Hey Everyone!

So my Wife and I over the last year or so have submitted a Family Class Sponsorship for me to gain PR. I have a question about the processing times, however.

We're planning on going to Florida for a vacation this Christmas, and i do have my Extension valid until January 12th 2016. We were however hoping that the Permanent Residency documentation would be in by then so we could do the border crossing and final steps on our way back into Canada.

We Submitted the application around the start of October 2014, and they received the application on November 3rd 2014. This is an Outland application, just incase i had to go back home for family troubles (England.)

The CIC Site for my Application is as follows:

1.We received your application for permanent residence on November 3, 2014.

2. We started processing your application on April 28, 2015.

3.Medical results have been received.

4. A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

It has been Decision made since about August, and we've been eagerly awaiting for a reply.

Can anyone say whether this is good or bad news? I can understand with the Elections, and other government workings going on that it could take a little longer, But what would be a time frame for when we could hear something?

Thanks in Advance,

Chris.

Hi Chris.

If you have not had any documents requests or told you need to attend an interview then this is a 99% positive decision. CIC would not refuse you unless they had a reason to, and if they were unsure about something in your application then they would request an interview.

You should have received your COPR/visa by now though. I recommend sending a case specific enquiry. I presume your visa office is London, if so click here to send a CSE.

Finally, I help maintain a spreadsheet where we track applications going through London, it would be great if we could get your info on there. The link to the spreadsheet is in my signature.

If you would like to be added please provide the following info:

-Date application received in Mississauga
-Whether you applied as Married or Common-Law
-Date of sponsor approval
-Which office is processing Phase 2 of your application (will say on your sponsor approval letter/email)
-Date the permanent residence status changed to In Process on ECAS
-Date(s) of any other requests you've had
-Whether or not the principal applicant is non-visa exempt
-Decision Made date
-Date you received your visa
-Current location of the principal applicant- closest major city is fine if you don't want to be too specific!
-Date of medical exam

Thanks,
Andrew

Hey Andrew,

Thanks for the really quick reply! I'd for sure love to be a part of the Spreadsheet, I'll just have to get all the information, like Dates of Medical Examinations and things, and then i'll get them to you.

As for as knowing which office it will go to, i'm slightly unsure. The immigration consultant we were using said because they were so backed up with applications, they may have kept it in Ottawa to process. I guess it's worth a try sending in a CSE though!

The only things we had as document requests was because we sent off the wrong thing as a Marriage Certificate, but that's the only time, and was corrected within 24 hours.

Thanks again, and i'll get that information to you as soon as i can. Right now my Father-in-law has it stashed somewhere safe, and i'm not sure exactly where!

Chris.

Thanks Chris. There is also a link in my signature to a FAQ which may answer some questions you haven't even thought of yet!

If you have your sponsor approval letter handy it will say something along the lines of

"the Application for permanent residence for your relative(s) has been sent abroad for processing"

And then underneath that will be an address. It will be either Ottawa or London.

Edit: If it is Ottawa then here is the CSE link for that VO.
