Hi there:

I'm planning to apply for working permit but there is a part time program I am very interested in. I understand that I can not have study permit and working permit at the same time, but is it a definite no even if I can handle working full time and studyin part time?

Thanks!

Hey novia.

You definitely can have a work and a study permit at the same time. I was both a full-time worker and student for a year and had both a regular work permit (not off-campus) and a study permit. You should call the all centre and explain your case. They should eb able to advise you

Thank you so much for replying! So which centre should I call? I checked the Immigration Canada website and seem like the phone number on the website is for checking progress of application.

Thanks again!

Call this number: 1-888-242‑2100
You can then select the "work/study/immigrate option" when asked to, then select "study or work in canada" whem prompted. Press "0" to talk to an agent and explain your situation.
