You have to be more specific about this job letter
There is no need for a job letter for the sponsored spouse. If you mean the sponsor's proof of intend to return to Canada then yes you will need as a sponsor to supply a job letter, or property ownership, or a rental agreement, in fewer words something that will convince CIC that you indeed are planning to return!
