Hi all,

I submitted TRV application for my immediate family member and did some mistakes. I have PR for Canada. For example the purpose of travel should be "Other" in 1a) and "COVID-19" in 1b) of form imm5257e....whereas I filled "Tourism" which most probably will be rejected in current Covid scenario. Havent had biometric submission yet, but will be doing that soon. My questions are

1) How can I withdraw application?
2) Do I need to submit new application after withdrawing or can I resubmit the same application with updated information?
3) What address should be provided for Name, address and relationship of persons to visit, given that I am currently NOT in Canada due to pandemic situation....have been in home country to take care of immediate relative due to pandemic?

Any help/suggestion/experience of others is really appreciated.

1, You can apply to withdraw. Submit a webform. You may wish to explain why in the webform; they'll send you a form you have to fill out. Be aware that this may take months to process.

2. You submit a new application. You can't update information on a withdrawn application.

3. If you're not in Canada, how are you expecting these people to qualify under the "reunite with a person IN CANADA" exemption?

1 and 2. Thanks for this information. When you say it can take month to process, do you know on an average how much time it take? 3 months, 6 months just to withdraw? Also if I have submitted webform to withdraw an application, can I simultaneously submit a new application with updated information?
3. I am going to travel to Canada as soon as direct flights resume.

Any update on this? Did u submit simultaneous applications? If so did one of them get approved?

@Sadstudent - I did not submitted simultaneous applications. I submitted to withdraw the application and after couple of months, submitted a new application....however the TRV hasnt been approved yet.... still waiting and dont know how long I have to wait...... The average processing time has reduced to about 40-50 days for TRV from India, I submitted the application in October first week....still no results...
