Hi, I was just informed that my masters program starting Fall 2021 is now online and not eligible for PGWP. I have already submitted an SDS application for this program. I have another offer for an on-campus program at another DLI starting January 2022. I want to withdraw my previous SDS application and re-apply to this second one. However, the second university isn't as highly ranked as the previous one and the field of study is also different. However, I have no other option at this point because I am interested in the PGWP after completion of studies. Does anyone have any guidance for me that I should include in my SOP for the new application?

My second question is regarding possible visa rejection due to family ties in Canada. I have a sibling who is a Canadian PR holder and resides in Canada with family - I understand this may raise flags for having family ties in Canada - what can I write in my SOP to address any such concerns? Thanks.

Regarding close relative in Canada, each case is different. Others may say that it could impact your application negatively, while for some it may have helped their application. In my case, it did not negatively affect my and my family’s temporary resident application. My brother-in-law even provided accommodation letter which I included in our application. I specifically wrote in my SOP that I and my family will stay at my in-law’s house.

Wait for others to comment, too.
