withdraw my passport during

Hello,
I sent my application ten days ago. But I found I have to travel next week. May I withdraw my passport during the application process? I mean, I just need to take back my passport and leave rest of the documents in the embassy for evaluation.
Does anybody know how I can contact the visa office?
My documents are now in the embassy in Austria.

Unless stated by the embassy you can't be sending documentation at will, so either you withdraw the entire application or you wait for it to finish.
