Our application was sent in to Mississauga on February 1st... Let's hope this month is lucky for us as it is when my hubby and I met and when our first daughter was born...

Anyways wish us luck everybody that this second time around we will be approved and my dear husband will be able to join his family soon... Hopefully the Guatemala office is fast although I know very little about it.
It would be absolutely wonderful if he was here before the end of 2011 permanently.

Please and thank you everybody!

The best of luck for you and your hubby this time around outland, JD!!!!...
I hope with all my heart this indeed is your month so you can conquer adversity and be able to bring him back soon and be once again reunited!.
Rob.

Thanks everybody.

Rob:
Somehow I knew you'd be the first to reply, thank you for being my number one supporter through all of this.

Black-Berry:
You have also been very supportive through everything thank you. What we did differently this time is we had a lawyer. A decision I semi regret.. seeing as how he has not been exactly the easiest to work through and a little careless on our applications... but he definitely knows what immigration wants to see. We addressed the issues that they had the first time, made sure they wouldn't be an issue this time and have sent in even more evidence. My husband is taking english courses down in El Salvador so he definitely won't need an interpreter this time and he's trying to work on his, I guess you would say shyness to speak english in front of new people... he's not confident enough yet in his skills to not get nervous but he's getting there. We sent even more letters from friends/family including his family this time. And now we have all of our e-mails/facebook chats/video logs etc as well as probably $400 in phone cards from me calling him. Pictures of the gifts we've sent back and forth (we sent each other small Christmas gifts and he sent our daughter a gift for her upcoming birthday) All in all I definitely would say that this application is bullet proof for sure.

Missmini:
Thank you for your kind words. I will definitely keep everyone updated. I plan on announcing mid to end of March that I was approved for sponsorship and our application is down in Guatemala and hopefully things are speedy down there not the 18 months posted on the immigration website :S

Me and hubby wish you a tremendous amount of luck. I am extremely positive that you will get through this smoothly. They could have been testing to see if you are a strong enough couple to perceiver and you have already proven this. You two seem like a wonderful couple who will not give up on their family and love. That in itself is a lot. You will do beautifully. Just remember to keep each other strong and remind each other that the IO's can have opinions but only the two of you know your relationship. They cannot take away your love or relationship, only the both of you can do that. Stay strong and please keep us updated. We will be there to support you. Good luck with everything! :-*

My husband also thinks the VOs in certain countries do this: reject an application to test the relationship. He saw this in Nigeria a lot. Everyone he knew who had applied for PR was rejected; some gave up; others persevered through an appeal, and those that did were usually successful, though it did take a long time.

Good luck in your new application. With more evidence and all problems addressed, you should win this time.

You know that is just so sad if that's what some VO's do, reject applications just to see if a couple will persevere. I wish the people who think like this could hear my almost 2 year old daughter wake up crying every night for her daddy. It hurts my husband and I enough being apart but how do you explain why her daddy is gone to a than 19 month old. The immigration system is truly sad if this is what they do to people, they are not god so why do they have so much power to determine the outcome of people's lives.

My husband and I know we are the real deal. Just because one IO didn't think that we were a genuine couple doesn't matter to us other than the fact that if she did we'd be together right now. It doesn't matter to us how much we have to fight or how much money we spend or whatever, we know we should be together. I guess whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, sorry for the cliche but we definitely have only gotten stronger as a couple through all this crap.

Thank you Love_Young and canadianwoman.

i already wished u all my best...but i had to add that what Love_Young said is so true for many of us...some relationships go through so much and nothing can separate them, all this experience will just make ur love stronger and time will prove to CIC how wrong they were...

Best of luck! Ours was received in mississauga feb 1st as well!

Best of luck JD. You and your husband have tons of proof and I wish you all the best for a quick and speedy process!

Good luck!!! I know this is a hard time, being in a path where you cant see the light or you are in a nightmare that you just want to wake up.. But the light will come and you will see that the end is close... Remember nothing is forever... :)
