Hello,

Are there any students who have been able to provide their biometric from India with Winter 2021 LOA since the pandemic? I know that VACs are currently closed in India but isn't (temporary) exemption from providing biometric (at least to receive AiP) only applicable for Fall 2020 students having 2 stage approval process? I also read somewhere that 2 stage approval process doesn't apply to Winter 2021 applicants.

What about for those who has recently applied for Winter 2021 (say in the month of Sept or October), how can they provide biometric? Will they just have to wait? Also, if IRCC is to process Winter 2021 applications via normal process (and not a 2 stage process), will they be starting to process the applications only after biometrics are submitted to the VACs (as they usually do)?

Please correct me if any my understanding is wrong.

Regards,
Sam

Does that mean for those who applied after Sept 15, they must provide biometric for their application to be progressed/considered for evaluation?

Yes, those who didn't submit to opt for the 2-stage process prior September 15th are in big trouble, in the sense there will be a huge delay. They still have a huge backlog to clear before attending post Sept. 15th folks. However it is reported that certain visa offices are giving AIP's to those who submitted after Sept. 15th ( which is not a reliable information, most probably a false one). Wait for the new rules to be announced on Oct. 20 .
