Can someone please explain the requirements for the POF? I thought it was suppose to be $10,000 for principal applicant and $2,000 for each dependant? but the cic website is giving me something different. checkout the website below:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

The amount of money you need to support your family is set by the size of your family. We update these amounts every year.

Number of
Family Members Funds Required
(in Canadian dollars)
1 $11,115
2 $13,837
3 $17,011
4 $20,654
5 $23,425
6 $26,419
7 or more $29,414

Can someone please throw more light on this?

This is for FSWP and not MPNP.

Hi tabs179,

Thank you very much for your response..its really a big help because as of now using my sister's credit card in canada is the only possible option i can think of in paying my processing fee because my account here in the philippines is all in peso.

Please I still have one question, I called the bank which I have a credit card (because at first i really wanna pay my fee using my own card)but customer service representative told me that my card is only for single currency transaction only and what i should have is a dual currency card..I'm thinking that if i have the "dual currency card" still it will only cater peso and US dollar and not the Canadian dollar that I need to pay my fee..

This is my question..do you believe on what the representative has told me about my card?that it is only applicable for peso transaction only?because i think if cards are either in visa or master card make they are internationally acceptable for online payment..

Thank you and I wish you all the best on your application.

God bless.

Hi istel0887

Sorry took me so long to respond to this, I just couldn't find the thread :o

I honestly haven't heard of credit cards (i,e. Visa or Mastercard) that couldn't be used abroad or other currencies. They will just charge you at the exchange rate they have for the day, so it might be more expensive. I am not also sure if they have exchange rate charges, too.

As long as the establishments has the logo and says they do accept them, it should be fine.

If you really want to know, try using your card. As long as you have CAD$550 or more in your limit, I don't see any reason why it would be rejected. When I paid, I used a debit card (UK bank) not even a credit card (but it's a Visa) and I was not charged for exchange rate services. That might depend on the bank you use, I guess. And I think credit cards are much more flexible than debit cards.

Worse case scenario, if it got rejected, you have to ask your sister to pay on your behalf, which you planned in the first place.

Have you already paid?

@ohanne

Now the Strike is finally over and all the processing is normal. I want to know couple of thinggs:

1. My Sister submitted my File through normal POSt to Nova Scotia in April and POST shows it reached there at 10th April, till now i have not received any reply, email, message, letter from embassy.
2. I opted to pay via credit card, till now it has not been debited also.
3. I am realy lost here how should i know what is going on,

Please guide

As per requirement, CAD 10K for principal applicant plus CAD 2K per accompanying dependent.

For husband, wife and a child, the total minimum funds should be CAD 14K.

Although it is advisable that the 6-months bank statement shows a minimum daily balance of CAD 14K,

Question:

Will the applicant be approved if his/her 6 months bank statement shows less than CAD 14K for the first 5 months and only on the 6th month it will show the minimum recommended fund of CAD 14K?

What do you think will be the repercussions of the above situation?

Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts and experiences.

hi,

i would like to try to answer this based on my experience. it would always be better to follow the requirement set but if you will try based on what you have discussed, then there will always be a probable risk of your application to have some delays.

1. No one knows when they are going to look/review at your bank account.
2. If they will see that you are not meeting the requirement, it will still be decided by the officer
if they will still ask you to follow their requirements.

For me, it would be better to wait for 6months, rather than be worrying on the whole processing.

Hello, Kwinkal.

I'm an applicant under MPNP General, I have applied last July and waiting for supporter's interview. I just want to ask if I will be the one will receive an email to schedule the interview or they will contact my supporter directly by email or phone?
Also, may I ask for some tips on what they will ask during the interview?

Thanks!
Brieanna

hi Brieanna,

just let me chime in since my supporter just got interviewed. she was called three weeks after I received the notice that I needed to submit an SP1 and my supporter her SP2. according to exchanges here, the usual timeline is about 2 weeks to 6 weeks.

for the questions during the interview, it's centered on how long you and your supporter knew each other, details about your current work, your future plans, etc.

other can chime in also according to their experience. =)

Agrees, my sponsor was called directly and he was asked how close we are and what I have been doing lately etc. After a week or so, I got my LOA. I found out early because I specified in the form to use my sponsor's address when they want to contact me. As postal system within Canada is faster, my sponsor emailed me to tell me the good news.

Hello
I CIC recieved my application for permenant residence on Feb, 2013, started processing in May 2013 and medical exam was made on June and the results recieved in July 2013. It has been 4 months since I have no response from the embassy.
