Will your application stay where it started?

Hi everyone,
Im sure everyone is just as anxious as I am. Just curious, Ive read on here that some applications start in Ottawa and then are transferred elsewhere in the US. Why does this happen? I applied outland, i live in WA state. I am absolutely terrified that my application will be sent to LA where the processing time just gets longer and longer and its already been in Ottawa for 6 months. All they can say is, its in process in Ottawa and they will contact me if they need anything else.
Any info??

The other US offices are used if there is an increasing backlog and CIC feels it would be better served processed elsewhere. It's really the luck of the draw, and they will try to send your application to a convenient office if it has to be moved. There is no way to control or influence the process.
