Will this be a problem for my application?

I am a second year student in a five-year ph.d program in the US, with previous working experience. I have submitted my skilled worker application, but I have some concern about my application:

When the immigration officer makes his decision on my application, he would probably realize that I will still need to stay in the US for maybe two or three more years for my ph.d before I can come and settle down in Canada. Would the officer feel uncomfortable about the fact I cannnot immediately come to Canada and thus reject my application?

Any suggestion on what I need to tell the officer?

As long as you have funds, are fluent in English and have good work experience, CIC does not care.
At least Canada is not as paranoid as the US or UK.

Don't you worry my friend, you have the maximum points with your Master's degree already, so whether you have finished or not your PhD the final desicion will not be influenced for it.

I do I know? simple... I was almost exactly on your position, It was only one year left in order for me to complete my PhD... I am already in Canada since almost 8 months.

I have a question, what happens if the official visa/status of principal applicant expires in the US? Should the CIC be informed?
