Hello, I am about to apply for my express entry permanent residency under the federal skilled worker FSW program . I believe I meet the minimum requirements:
-I took both language test French and English
-I have one direct family member who is a PR already
-i have a diploma from Canada
-I have Noc B work experience from Canada (15 months at my current job and 4 months elsewhere)
-I am single with no kids
(PS: I do not have a degree from back home, I do NOT have work experience from back home)
I started my current job January 29th 2018 but I got very sick and away on short term disability for 5 or 6 months (between September 26th to December 12th AND from January 15th 2019 - April 24th 2019). During that time, I was paid by the insurance company which I get through work. I have the disability payment slips from them however, I do not have pay stubs available from my work during that period as I had used up all my sick days already.
So my question is this, technically I have only worked 10 months in my current job so would I need to work 2 extra months to make up the required 12 months - 1 year for Express entry? Or it does not matter since it was not my fault that I got sick? (Please note that Skilled Workers Program requires "continuous" work experience but it doesn't state if disability counts)
Also i was thinking I could apply under the Canadian Experience Class instead because they say your work experience can be cumulative from different employers. So I was thinking instead of waiting for 2 more months, I could use my 13 months of combined work experience (19 months of combined work experience minus 6 months of disability) from the different employers and apply under the CEC program instead.
Which one do you think is more risky? Please kindly provide your opinions. Thank you
