Hello,
So almost 5 years ago in Jacksonville Florida, I was in my own community's pool after hours and ended up getting arrested and held over night. While there is much more to the story, I now have a misdemeanor on my record with 3 charges.
-Trespassing (dropped/abandoned by state)
-Disorderly intoxication (dropped/abandoned by state)
-Resisting an officer without violence

So two of the charges were dropped and there was no community service or sentence.. i payed something like 150$ and was held overnight.

I am trying to relocate from LA - Vancouver for my work and never even thought this could be a problem but now my work wants me to do some digging around before they start doing paperwork.

Questions
Do I need to worry about the dropped charges?
Would the one other charge make me inadmissible?
If I am inadmissible, what are my options? I am trying to get up there ASAP.... also it might important to note that I am a few months away from hitting the 5 year mark if that opens other options.

If I am posting this in the wrong place I apologize, thanks for any help.

Yes, the misdemeanor does make you inadmissible. Matter of fact, any criminal conviction will make you inadmissible. However you can definitely overcome the inadmissibility, especially since a fair amount of time has passed and the offence is not a felony. Depending on whether you are trying to relocate PERMANENTLY (as in trying to apply for permanent residence in Canada) or just going there temporarily for work, it could take a while to get all this taken care of.

You need to submit a good bit of paperwork of the particular incidents that happened and an explanation. Then you will need to apply and be considered "rehabilitated" before they would let you move up there. It is definitely not all that straightforward to do this by yourself. Your best bet would be to contact a Canadian immigration attorney (such as the one who runs this site - www.canadavisa.com )
