Hello,

Glad to find this site to ask my question.
After reading a few topics here, still I have a concern; will it be really no matter to be absent in Canada after submission?

I'm now a PR of Canada and in July will be eligible for the Citizenship. But I'm wondering to what extent I should stay in Canada after applying for it.
I know some kind of temporary leave would be acceptable, but what about the cases like, say in the very next month of August, (1) if I leave to a foreign country for a full year as a visiting worker, or (2) if I get a permanent job there for many years. I wonder how much these cases affect my application. Maybe one year after can I still take the exam and get my citizenship without problem? On my search on internet, I found many people had problems due to their absence after applying.

FYI, my family members (except me) would stay in Canada after applying for it for that concern until they get citizenship. Do you think that their staying in Canada in my absent period would help in my achieving the citizenship?

Thanks for reading and answers in advance!

Not a problem to submit your application and then leave. You will however need your family to check when you have a mail from CIC inviting you for your test. They usually give about 2 weeks notice so be ready to fly back to Canada on a short notice.

I found some real concerns on internet like this (please correct the link address after www):
