hi Guys,

Just wondering if its advisable to apply for a visitor visa while Spouse Sponsorship is on process? we submitted the application this month for Spousal Sponsorship but looking at the processing time it will take 14 months so we were looking for the other option while waiting for the result of PR application and that is the visitors visa. but need to ask advise from you guys coz im not really sure if its a good move or no. thanks a lot! :)

You can apply, but most likely it will be denied, unless you can prove that your spouse has stronger links to his country than to Canada. With a spouse in Canada, CIC is afraid that your spouse won't leave at the end of his visa, and overstay - or stay even if application for PR is denied.

However, if you choose to apply and get refused, it doesn't have a bearing on your application, so you can always give it a try if you want.
Good luck,
Sweden

Thanks Sweden :) its actually me who's going to need a trv if ever. my husband is the one sponsoring me. He's a Canadian Citizen.. We decided that we wont apply for visitors visa it will be hard for us to convince because i got refused with work visa before. that might be a red flag for them already. and the reason why i got denied was they said i didnt apply for an extension. actually we did online. when our MP called cic, they also confirmed that i did apply for an extension thats why they advised me to make an appeal but my husband dont want that anymore coz it takes time. so we apply for spouse visa instead of work visa.
