Will I be able to travel back and forth from India to Canada with a valid study permit but an expired student visa?

I am currently facing a situation with my student visa and study permit,

My student visa and study permit are both set to expire before I complete my course.Therefore, I am thinking of applying for an extension, but I have a concern regarding my student visa.

If I only extend my study permit and my student visa expires, will I still be able to travel back and forth from india to Canada with a valid study permit?

You need to apply for a TRV to be able to reenter Canada, not an extension.
