Hello,
I have below situation from my friend and they are seeking your help.

"I got PPR and Visa was issued before 2 days.
Now I am planning to get married in December, 2017.

I am in India at this moment and my spouse is in Canada on work permit. He is coming to India to get married in this December.

We are planning to come together to Canada after our marriage.
In that case, I will be on PR and my spouse will be on his work permit.

My questions are:
1. How do I inform CIC about this status change after getting married?

2. What documents will be required as proof of marriage? (marriage certificate, photos etc.)

3. How do I get new Visa with "Married" status?

4. I am not planning to add my spouse into this application. My plan is to land first and then do a separate application for his PR when we are in Canada.

5. Is there anything else I should be aware of?

your reply is much appriciated. Thanks a lot in advance."

1. How do I inform CIC about this status change after getting married?
- raise a cse enquiry form

2. What documents will be required as proof of marriage? (marriage certificate, photos etc.)
-marriage, police, medical certificate, birth certificate for your spouse, some forms, photos

3. How do I get new Visa with "Married" status?
- if you request to add your spouse in the application, u both will get pr together

4. I am not planning to add my spouse into this application. My plan is to land first and then do a separate application for his PR when we are in Canada.
-It is advisable to add your spouse before you land canada. If you do so it will only take 1-2 months but if you process after you land, it will take a lot of time

5. Is there anything else I should be aware of?
- search the topic " getting married after ppr" for further info about this

your reply is much appriciated. Thanks a lot in advance."
