Hi All,

Our process went relatively smoothly. The visas were issued in October last year.

A bit of background so that everyone can understand my questions...
I am a Canadian citizen living in SA. My First daughter qualified for citizenship which went fine and we have her citizen card.
The law changed before my 2nd daughter was born in that 2nd generation born outside the country do not qualify for citizenship.
We applied for Permanent residency for my wife and 2nd daughter and their visas came through last year Sept/Oct. They went over to Canada to have the cards processed etc - stayed with my brother and handed in the forms.

My wife and child then returned as my brother was going to post the cards once they were sent to his place.

My wifes card did arrive - but the CIC office sent a form saying that my daughters photos were incorrect.
We took new photos and sent it to my brother but they havent arrived.

When my wife and daughter arrived in Canada, there were papers stapled into their passports and the passport / immigration officer said that if the card goes missing, its not a problem, as they have been processed now with proof of landing etc.
Is that correct?
Can we leave when we are ready even if my child hasnt received her permanent residency card?

Thank you for your assistance.
Regards
Discovery.

I think the answer is yes, but for your daughter, you will need to get some kind of right to travel document from the Canadian Consulate in order for her to return to Canada (assuming she returns before you receive her PR card).
