wife visiting as tourist Without sponsorship application in process yet

My wife and I just got married last week. She is coming to visit me next month from the Philippines under her 10 year tourist visa. We will file an Outland sponsorship application when she arrives in Canada. When she goes through immigration will it raise red flags she is married but doesn't have a sponsorship application currently in process? Can she tell the immigration officer at the airport she is coming to visit her husband ? Thanks!

Always tell the truth of course, but she only needs to answer what they ask her. No need to ramble on voluntarily about things. If she will visit other friends or relatives, they would top my list of who I would say that i am visiting. That's just me.

Same here, we are planning for me to visit my hubby in Canada soon and don't know how to answer the immigration on the day of my flight. We got married last month and haven't started the spousal sponsorship application yet.
