Wife is Canadian-born Citizen, I'm a U.S. Citizen trying to gain Canadian Citizenship

• My wife is Canadian-born Citizen.
• I'm a U.S. Citizen trying to get on the path to Canadian Citizenship (while still retaining my U.S. Citizenship status / ie: Dual-citizen). My wife would sponsor me to become a Permanent Resident.
  
• We have (2) Children (both under 5 years of age) that we were born in the U.S.

I have completed & successfully "validated" Form "eimm5669e".

I was in the process of completing "imm0008enu_2d" (Generic Application Form For Canada) - however, I am not sure what to information is being requested in Question #3 - "How many family members, including you, are in this application?". I've reviewed the guide and am still not clear as to whether or not I need to include my wife (a Canadian Citizen) and/or our (2) Children who are Canadian citizens by default (although we don't currently have a Certificate of Citizenship for them - this is in-progress).

You can’t gain Canadian citizenship just because your spouse is Canadian , it doesn’t transfer over as in your children’s case

Let me clarify - I am trying to get on the path to Canadian Citizenship via sponsorship from my Wife, and by first applying as a "Permanent Resident". It is my understanding that I need to complete the above mentioned forms.
