Actually I am getting different views from different people regarding PR in Ontario. So I am confused, Can any one tell me exact scenario and problems for PR in Ontario..?

Nice question,

I also want to know same thing. Why getting PR is hard in Ontario as compared to others.

I know it it tough and not possible to PR from Ontario.but, dont know, why?Any body tell, plz.

Ontario doesn't need to "attract" immigrants, lots of them want to come here without having any incentive from the government. Cities like Toronto, which are very “americanized”, attract many, many foreigners that are more familiar with american culture than Canadian culture. Ontario is the most populous province of Canada (38% of Canada's total population), it also has a high unemployment rate 7.5% (Alberta is 4.7, Saskatchewan is 3.2% - Canada's lowest!).
Competition for jobs in Ontario is fierce. It's pretty common to see immigrant taxi drivers' with degrees that are worth nothing.

its very simple man. Canada is a HUGE country. its Economy is great, but it has excellent potential. its 2nd largest country in the world according to area. but population and especially skilled population is not that much in ratio to its resources. thats the reason it started this international immigration process many years ago.

in the beginning it was quite easy to settle in Canada. Toronto being a big city attracted almost every one and people rushed there. thats the reason now that almost 40% of Canada's total population resides in Toronto.
now they dont want to congest the city anymore. this is the only reason policies have been made so strict in Ontario to settle. competition is huge there especially for jobs. people who live there already try to get the cream when recruiting. its not like one does not get jobs there but its the competition. and also the living expenses are quite high there. standard of life is surely high but at the expense of higher cost. so international students have a hard time there.
same thing happened to Alberta. before this past September, Alberta was one of the easiest provinces to file and get PR. but after this Sep 2014, only the File processing time have been increased to 25 MONTHS. thats 2 years 1 month to be Exact! which makes it plain IMPOSSIBLE for a 2 year course, and 3 year paid Full time Job holder to get settlement there.

to settle in Canada, its tough times now guys! not as easy as in the past...

what do you mean by tough?

in ontario, you have to work 1 year in your field, and then you can apply for PR.

thats not accurate..... its tough yes but not impossible

Is it tough because only 2,500 applications will be accepted? What are the reasons?

Ohhh..thanks a lot guys....previously I had thought that they are not giving PR but you guys made it clear that it is due to overflow of people and completion.... :)

I want to make clear one thing. It is tough for very good students. It is impossible for average and below average students. I don't understand when better options available in Canada for PR why people pushing students to go Toronto or Ontario.

so they check grades during PR selection? Isn't it depends on the job?
