Why does CIC ask for passport with additional documents at the same time?

Hi all, i am new on this forum , well quite recently i received my medical request, latest PCC , RPRF and passport request , everything is done and sent and my passport will be sent as well in a while , but i received all these requests at once..(including the passport request)
I know that the normal procedure requires the applicant to receive a passport request after a successful medical exam and security checks, but these days most applicants are receiving passport request at the same time with others docs so i was wondering if it is for stamping or some other reasons? why should the visa officer ask for passport when he/she has not yet got the final decision? this is puzzling me

We just received our request for Medical RPRF Fee , Funds and US status but no passport request :'(

it's a time saver. if our meds r okay and IO is satisfied with everything, instead of requesting ppt he will send these to us with visa stamped, thereby saving us a month or two.

That is US visa office and its diff for India visa office- so I believe they r different
My friend got his medicals in US and then had to wait for passport request until after medicals were sent
So no worries for u

During medicals in India - do the doctor send it directly to CIC or give the results to us in a sealed envelope
In US they send it directly to CIC and do not give it to us
My medicals state that - everthing including medicals, passport and pictures should be in same envelope
I was wondering to give my pictures and passports to the doctor to send with medicals - if they r sending it directly to CIC
OR - get medicals in sealed envelope and attach passport and pictures in other envelope


Any views from seniors who finished medicals in India ??

Just to make a precision that my visa office is Beijing China not New Dheli

medicals r forwarded directly by the doctor and passports r to be submitted by us separately.

yeah that's true the DMP is in charge of forwarding the results , and we send send the other requested docs by ourselves ,i really wish that that when the VO asks the passport so quickly it is to save time then.because it is strnage anyway.
