Hi All,

Why Canada while Australia is easier?

This question is in my mind since 8 months, and I didn't reach to an answer. I hope to find the answer here, since most of applicants to FSW2013 here can get PR for Australia much easier and faster.

Yea..since im in Canada now - i do sometimes think about it.

But well, you can't have a general answer applicable to everyone. Each one of us will have different needs.

You may first want to check out if you can have a great career in Canada?

First check if the job you are doing has same kind of opportunities and rewards here in Canada. You can go to HRSDC website : http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/eng/home.shtml

Search for your job title and then check if the duties are same. If they are same more than 60% - then go to next step. Otherwise, keep searching with key words from your own job description - to find the relevant job title in Canada.

Once you find the job title - check its prospects in Canada. Perhaps you can go to WWW.Workopolis.com and then enter the job title - and see how many similar jobs come up in the search. Read the details. Are they really similar? If there are too many in a day - you are ok. If not...that's something to think about.

Second concern is weather. I wish I had opted for Australia, as the weather is warm there and it would have suited my parents well. Now, its bit late.

Lastly - do you have any close family or friends in each of this country. Where ever you have most go there. Friends and family help a lot when you migrate to a new country.

Hope this helps. Just my opinion and i could be wrong.

What makes Australia "easier" than Canada?

Does a similar AustraliaVisa forum exist, if yes can you post the link?

LOL! Donut has got a point! Lots of people migrating to Canada so you can get lots of collective and accumulative knowledge.

But the knowledge of immigration and the process and then settling is not enough. If the job market is already saturated - you will get a hard time getting a job or even starting up a business.

Canada gets 350,000 immigrants each year. Australia gets only around 40,000 immigrants each year. (http://www.immi.gov.au/media/fact-sheets/02key.htm)

Canada enjoys great economic benefits being neighbor of US - at the same time Canada suffers a lot when US suffers. There are pros and cons. And that's what i said earlier. Research more in to your specific career. If you dont have one or are willing to change - know your strengths or educational background and see which country or economy will be more suitable for your career.

All the best guys.

CANADA IS RATED THE BEST COUNTRY TO LIVE, WORK AND START A FAMILY. CLIMATE IS HEAVENLY IN CANADA. I DON'T MIND THE CHILLY SNOWY WEATHER. AUSTRALIA HAS HOT AND TROPICAL CLIMATE. ALSO LOTS OF SNAKES AND REPTILES ( CROCS ) CRAWL INTO YOUR HOME IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL. IF YOU CHOOSE AUSTRALIA, THE ONLY PLACE YOU CAN THINK OF EXPLORING IS NEW ZEALAND. IF YOU CHOOSE CANADA, YOUR OPTIONS TO EXPLORE FOR JOBS AND BUSINESS INCLUDE USA, MEXICO, SOUTH AMERICA ETC.
NO HARM IN GETTING PR OF BOTH COUNTRIES.

Hiteshdand, having Canadian and Australian residencies, I can say that you really need to brush up your knowledge about Australia. Little knowlege is a dangerous thing. Do you know the strength of an Australian passport ?. All the countries you have mentioned can be travelled on an Aussie passport without a visa. I don't think a 14 hr flight to US can really end the options of job exploration and business.

Could you be a little bit more specific? What do you mean by easier - deadlines, procedure, admission criteria, fees? About a month ago I read across the Australian immigration official site and I got the impression that they were open only to those who have local education... Am I wrong in assuming so?

457 Visa Class im aware about it.........easiest visa with job offer.......visit www.immi.gov.au

actually thread creature wants to inform about processing of getting immigrant status is easy in Aus.....they give nomination over job offer within 6 week and no hard copies are required for application for immigration only online application and have to send all scanned copies of the documents and within next 6 week they announced you as their Temporary resident .......so mean only in 3 month you can get it all.......

But on Canadian side they are developing day by day and trying to minimizing time for processing one development in medical submission first they asked to courier medical report but now doctors at the same time upload you medical report to save time........so things are getting easier on Canadian side too......

thanks for sharing, awai. but more insights, shared experiences or info from other forum members are most welcome.

Whoever thinks that Australian PR is easier than Canadian PR is nuts....both countries have a streamlined immigration process and both have different procedures.... Given a choice I would prefer Australian PR anytime over Canada.... But life always gives u lemons in name of choice...So I took the lemons , made the lemon drink out of it and migrating to Canada :P I have lived in Australia for 4 years and have found getting a visa there extremely tedious...But it was equally hard to get a Canadian PR...So appreciate wherever you land and work hard to make your life shine !!!
