This forum is a hugely useful resource with a very helpful community. But why is it so chaotic? Why are people being allowed to create multiple threads for the same topic of discussion? It is extremely confusing not to mention annoying as well.

In most forums you can only have one thread for a specific topic which makes finding information much easier. It also makes contributing info easier. Whereas in this forum there are like 10 different threads for say OOPNP. Several threads already for the forthcoming 11th draw. Why? It's not so difficult to check whether a thread already exists and post in an existing one rather than creating a million new ones! Rant over.

Yes very true...takes a lot of time to find information about a particular topic

I think a main issue is that sub categories are needed. Express Entry is very broad. We at least need ECA questions, PN, AOR, ITA, IELTS... something more specific

I'm sick of this shit also... million same topic threads... WTF????

it is chaotic because of several reasons:
1. EE is case specific - we all have specific cases,
2. It is easier to ask then read back through topics,
3. Important topics are very large - several hundreds of pages...

It will never be less chaotic... sooner you accept it, better for you...

Well I agree with your points. I do realise that when somebody has an urgent problem it is much easier to create a new topic than to fish for an answer in a thread with a million pages. Agreed. But still there is no reason for the silliness of multiple threads for topics like "will we have 11th draw tonight" or creating new threads for redundant questions which could easily just be posted in the appropriate topic thread. There is no need for 3 or 4 different threads all with the title "no pt notification yet for oopnp". Surely a moderator should be able to merge these. Then it'll be easier for everyone to find relevant info instead of looking into 10 different threads. /myopinion.

I do fully agree - i also do not like predictions, guesses, analysis, etc - we are all in a same boat, annoyed with this... BUT - it will never be better, so yes - we all need to read several topics regarding same issue, and try to extract as many useful info as possible...

merging and sorting this out is a full time job for moderator - not sure Cohen is willing to pay for that ;)

btw - check "Thank you Asivad Anac" thread... it turned out to be leeching knowledge from the guy/girl instead of praise for him/her... people tends to be lazy, we all have "the most urgent" issues, and our issues are most important for us, of course...

Lol. I don't envy a forum moderator's job at all.

As long as you get the answer to your question, it doesn't really matter if its asked in a thread or by a new topic. Posting it in a single topic avoid your question being lost in abyss and believe me it does happen..

I also think we need to point it out once we find one. For example, a couple of days ago, I noticed someone had created an existing thread "those who received AOR in May and inside Canada, please connect here". The existing thread was created on the same day and was like 7 points down on the chart. I wasn't too happy about it but I pointed it out to the person and included the link. He/She apologised that He/She didn't know it existed, he asked us to connect there and deleted his thread.

So I think basically people don't check, they just create a topic once something comes to mind.
