Sending an application in for Spousal sponsorship..
The document checklist sends us to the immigration guide..
The immigration guide says we need to send four photos "for each family member of your family and yourself."
I really have no idea what that means.
My husband (US citizen) has children that are not coming with him to Canada.. Do we need those photos to send in the application?
Does it need his parents/siblings photos?
The guide is far from clear, and this is just one more hang up that we're not sure what to do with.
It will be a HUGE pain to get their mom to take them in to get pics done..
Can we apply without??
Thank you :)

The applicant which is your husband who is being sponsored needs to send the photos If his children are under the age of 19 even if they are not coming you will need photos of them too. They also have to be on the application.

No photos required for siblings or parents etc they are not coming to Canada and dos not go on the application except on addition family information form

All CIC needs to freaking do is this, "include 4 photos for each family member who is accompanying you to Canada". They just need to put in a little more effort in their instructions. They don't realize how confusing their stupid forms are. We have to jump through hoops just to understand what they want. And then we get their forms sent back to us because we filled them out wrong because their instructions are ambiguous! You'd think that with all that updating they do, they'd have better instructions.

Trust me op, we all struggle the same.

Agreed, it could make a complicated process more simple providing clear instructions.
I keep saying I want to make CIC a new application package when (if?!) we ever finish this.

I get this happens on forums, but now I have two different answers to my question.
The children are all minors, but not all going to be immigrating.
(One of them is, so it makes sense to send that picture).
The other two are not coming to Canada.

Send their pictures? Or no?

Thank you!!!

According to taffy7, you have to send photo for non accompanying dependents too.

In general, once you are married (or common law, since it's a married-like relationship), only your spouse and children (of his/her or yours) are counted as family.

Parents and siblings will only be mentioned if there is a place for "other family members".

I only sent in pictures of my wife. In our case our children who are coming with us are dual citizens.
