Once my fiance and i get married, we will be applying to allow me permanent residence in canada (he is a citizen) through the family class - spouse.

I am simply wondering, for the forms that I must fill out as the applicant, some of them (such as IMM 5669) also require my spouse to fill them out as well. Will my fiance(then husband) need to fill these out even though he is the sponsor?

Thanks.

If your husband is sponsoring only you as his spouse, only YOU should fill in the IMM 5669. The sponsor fills out the documents listed under "sponsor" and the applicant fills out the forms for the applicants ONLY, in this case where a husband is sponsoring his wife.

The only time both spouses need to fill in the IMM 5669 is if they are being sponsored by another family member, such as a son or daughter.

You fiance would require to fill up these forms for sponsoring you :

IMM 1344 Sponsorship agreement & undertaking,
IMM5491 Check list
IMM5481 Sponsorship evaluation
IMM5409 Statutory declaration of common-law union ( if applicable)
IMM5476 Use of a representative ( if applicable)
IMM 5401 payment Receipt

ok thanks. I just wanted to be sure. I know which forms he will have to fill out as my sponsor. The confusion was some of the forms say "Spouse, whether they are coming with you or not". Since he lives there already, he technically wouldn't be coming with me. So in this case, because he will be my sponsor, he will only need to fill out the sponsor forms, and none of the applicant forms?
