Hi, so I am currently on an IEC, living and working in Canada, and I recently got promoted to manager at my job. So I want to extend my work permit, but I am not sure about the best way to go about this.
As I am Australian, I cannot re-do the IEC for some random reason that only came into affect very recently, but I still want to travel while working, so would love to re-apply for an open work permit. However the cic website is confusing me and I am not sure if I am eligible for it.
My job is managing a float spa which is quite a new job that doesn't yet require any training, and isn't mentioned on the cic website "am I eligible" page, so can anyone shed any light on whether I am I eligible to go for the open work permit or will I need to work with my boss to do a LMIA and go for a closed work permit? If it isn't that simple, is there anyone other than a representative that I can talk to so I can figure out what I am eligible for and get the process going? Any help is greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance for taking your time to reply!
