Which visa office will outland be processed? Residency in EU but non-EU passport

Hi,

A quick question, regarding sponsorship of a non-EU spouse who resides within the EU!

If my wife is in possession of a residency card to allow her to live and work in France, does that mean that once we complete and file our paperwork, the application will be processed in the Paris CIC office? Or does that not matter, and it will just be designated down to her nationality?

If she has been within France for at least 1 year with legal status then she can choose Paris as her VO

What the previous poster said. I am a Romanian national living in Germany, and instead of Bucharest VO I chose Vienna VO.

If she wants her application to be processed in Paris, then she would need to show proof of her status in France. She must be legally admitted for at least one year.

Send her residency card and a document which specifies she can live and work in France (valid for more than 1 year) and you should be fine. Don't forget to translate them too.

Actually you are right, Chevy23 is wrong. the operative word is ADMITTED, so she could have resided in France for 1 day, but admitted for more than a year, she could use the Paris office.

Note that while you can certainly request an office based on residency, CIC-M may for whatever reason they see fit, forward the application to the office based on citizenship instead.
