dear all,
I opened my immigration file in cairo office in april, 2006, at that time it was required to achieve 7 in all bands to get 4 points. As you all know, this has changed now. I want to make ielts results update to gain extra points, as i have a shortage of 2 points. my question is, which criteria should i follow, the one when i opend my file or the new one?

regards,

IELTS results are valid for two years only; at least as per new guidelines. I am not sure what was the validity as per the old rules. But I think most probably your old results are expired now.

Anyway I think they will consider points awarded as per the rules at that time.

To get the maximum highest points which is 16 in IELTS, you should get score AT LEAST 7.5 in Listening and 6.5 for the other three language skills (W, R, S).

BTW, IELTS for immigration purposes expires in 1 year from the date stated in your TRF.

Good luck!
