Which smester is better to go to canada, winter or fall. Regarding different things especially for the sake of part time jobs.

If you are planning on studying more than one semester and want to get an off-campus work permit, fall is better because you can not apply for the off-campus work permit until you have studied for 6 months. If you start on the fall semester, you can apply for your off-campus work permit in early March and have it before the summer vacation. If you start on the winter semester, you can not get it until the summer vacation is over.

@ leon, yes you are right. I have got admission offer from concordia for sep 2011, they replied me very late, now i have no other choice to defer my admission to next semester which is winter 2012.

Thats why i was asking about that. can you get on campus jobs in the university during summer? are there enough opportunities?

I don't know if you can get on-campus jobs in the summer. You could ask the university or defer your studies until fall 2012.

can you tell me which place is better to get PR asap, qubec or ontario?

Ontario has Masters and PhD immigration streams under their PNP. Quebec has an immigration stream for students too but you must speak French. You have to look into both of them and see which one might be better suited for you.

If you plan to study for at least 2 years, you would get a 3 year post grad work permit and would be able to apply under CEC but it might be hard to do that if you are living in Quebec at the time as CEC is for people who plan to settle outside Quebec.

actully i have applied in concordia uni which is in qubec and got admission offer from there.
in ontario i have applied in uni of ottawa. where i am waiting for there decision on admission.
so you are telling me that its a bit easier to get PR in ontario rather than qubec

I am saying you have more options in Ontario but you can still do it in Quebec. Do you speak French or plan to learn it?

no i dont know anything about french.......
is it necessary to learn french in order to get PR in qubec?

For their student immigrant stream, you need French and for their skilled worker program, there is a points system where French is a large number of the points so in order to skip it, you would have to score very high in other categories.

You can read more about the programs here: http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/students/stay-quebec/application-csq/index.html
