Hi! I'm applying for various colleges in British Columbia and Ontario but thinking on the news from yesterday about the new immigration targets and how PNP is master race, I was wondering which Province do you guys think is better and more 'easier' to get a nomination after graduation from a 1 year program? I know it depends on various factores but in the general sense, which has a more robust program? Thanks

A one year program is a REALLY bad plan if your main objective is PR. Way too many people take a 1 year program and then have problems translating this into PR either because they don't have enough points or their PGWP is only good for a year. Take a 2 year program so that you qualify for a 3 year PGWP. That's the best advice anyone here can give you in your main objective is PR. This is way more important than the province.

This is how bad it really is if the sole purpose is to get PR.

However...

if EE-based TR2PR becomes real and if it is exactly like what we expect, meaning no min Canadian exp req also with reasonable (whatever that means in this context) NOC selections, then 1 year program becomes the best plan because it is the fastest and cheapest compared to 2 (MSc) and 4 (PhD/BSc) year options. In other words, it's way too soon to put your money up for a one year program. If you so must spend that money "now", go enroll in a master's program (2 years).

Agreed. Too many unknowns right now. But if someone wants to spend money, then what's you've recommended is the right path.

Should the total amount (2 years' tuition + 20k) be in our bank account while applying for 2 years studies or just showing 1st year's portion is enough for visa application?
1 year tuition + $10,000 in living expenses.
