I know the title is kinda odd, but let me explain the situation. My study permit is expiring at the end of this month which is July 31st. I read articles about renewing study permit outside of Canada (I am studying online in my home country with my DLI due to COVID, and won't have to go back to Canada til 2022 Fall), which basically is the same as applying for a new one with all the medical exam, finger print capturing and pick up the permit at airport process. I checked the only facility that provides medical exam in my country, the earliest spot available is at August 2nd, which my study permit will be expired. In my understanding, if my study permit expires I can pay $200 to restore my status. So I am wondering should I renew my current one with paying $200 more to restore my status after I got the medical exam result, or I should just save that $200 and go apply for a new one? Thanks a lot for the advice!
