Which one is the correct end date of WP

Hi Folks

I am in a typical situation where my Work Visa end date is July 31st whereas my work permit end date is August 31st. Can you please tell me which is the end date - as I am interested in applying for the BOWP and interested in knowing when does my 4 month's window start.

Work permit.

Visa date = till that date, you can enter the country (single/multiple depends)
Permit date = till that date, you are legal in the country.
