Hi,

I am landing in Calgary this week.Need to know which bank to choose there.I would highly appreciate any suggestion for a one which could encash my bank draft early, as well along with other facilities,as I am not carrying much cash with me.

Thanks

Scotiabank is a good bank for new settlers.

I bank with both Scotia and TD.
Found TD better than Scotia in Services.
Scotia has free account for newcomers for first year where as TD charges about 3 dollars per month if your balance is below CAD1500

I have an account with TD.
It was very easy to open an account with TD and my exp was quite good and hastle free.

They have some pretty good options for bank accounts which i liked.
Another advantage is that it is open on Sundays.

Hi, i went for SCOTIA BANK .

Cheers..

Hi,

all banks are almost same in charging the fee and providing the services.
Scotia, TD, CIBC, RBC etc...
I have account with Scotia, CIBC and TD all are good in services.
Scotia and CIBC is giving 1 year free of charge account maintenance and they also provide the small safety deposit box free for 1 year. Scotia will give you the right away visa card with limit of $ 1000. CIBC and other bank will issue the secure visa card. Scotia and TD have late opening till 8-9pm and TD is having Sunday opening also, but they charge monthly account fee.

Check nearby any branch and read there flayer about the charges and fees.

Best regards,
