Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi
I will be moving to Canada in few months and plan to open an account before coming. I request to please provide your kind opinion on which bank to go with to open an account. I was thinking of TD trust or RBC, appreciate if you can provide me your thoughts.

I've used Royal Bank of Canada and have had no problems with them so far. To open an account before arriving, you only have the option of a deposit-only savings account. Once you visit the bank branch though, you can convert that to any type of account you want.

Thanks for your thoughts

Do look for Tangerine Bank. They don't charge any monthly fees. Most of the banks in Canada charge ~ $10 to $15 monthly fee for your account!

I went with TD Canada

They have a newcomer package, which waives all fees for the first 6 months and gives you the ability to open a chequing and savings account and a credit card to start building your credit history in Canada.

As long as you keep a certain minimum balance in your account at all times, they will also waive your account fees after tye 6 months.

Hope that helps.

TD... flexible hours, more locations, more staff at every location....

second option CIBC they have new to Canada account which has good features...

For me you can't go past Canada's largest bank (RBC). Have been with them since arriving in Canada (27 June 2014).

Good luck with whatever you decide.
