Hi guys,

I have a question from IMM 0008, question 4: "Immigration Office requested for the processing of your application"

I live in Kamloops B.C., so I am applying within Canada.

I am here with my PGWP, which expires on March 5, 2015. It was issued on March 5, 2012.

I have been very thorough with each step of my application and I noticed that in the instruction guide(5609) it says to "Indicate the name of the Immigration Office which serves:

•your country of nationality, or
•the country in which you are residing, provided that you have been lawfully admitted to that country for at least one (1) year.

I am obviously residing in Canada, but my PGWP will expire in less than one year from now.

Will the visa office I must send my application to be affected by this? I am a Filipino citizen and I intend to move back to the Philippines after I mail my application. Does that mean I must send my application to an office in Manila because I am "not lawfully admitted to that country for at least one year"?

Or will I be able to send my application with no problem to the respective CIO office which processes CEC applications?

Any information on this would be excellent.

Thankyou.

My personal opinion: I don't think it is a problem, you can still apply in Canada to CPP Ottawa.

the country in which you are residing, provided that you have been lawfully admitted to that country for at least one (1) year.

I think that just means that you have been in Canada for atleast a year (in the past). Which is true in your case since your PGWP was issued in March, 2012 and it's 2014 now.

Besides, I have come across several applicants on this forum who apply for PR within Canada and then head back to their home countries right after submitting their applications.

Fellow members, any thoughts ?

Every CEC application has to be mailed to the CIO in Sydney and the processing visa office ( which goes into the IMM0008 form ) is CPC-Ottawa. No matter where you reside right now, or where you move after submitting your application, CPC-O is the processing office.

Thank you RazerBlade and Iam_Toby.

Are you certain that the visa office I must send my application to is still CPPO-Ottawa?

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/canada/sydney.asp

Because in this link, it says that the office which processes CEC applications is the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia

If you click on "Processing center-Ottawa" on the side tab, the page says that they only process TRV applications.

Am I wrong? Or do I still need to list "CPC-Ottawa" as the visa office in my IM 0008 application form?

Thanks

No, you got me wrong.
You have to send the application to the CIO in Sydney, but the office that processes CEC applications is
the CPC in Ottawa. You mail it to CIO in Sydney, they check it and then forward it to the CPC in Ottawa.

And yes, put CPC-Ottawa in your IMM0008 form.

I concur.

I have sent my application by post on 11th of April 2014 to Sydney, Nova Scotia and realized that I miss my T4 and RL1 along with the application. Apart from that I have included my Employer's reference letter and NOA for the year 2012. So I again sent my T4 and RL1 for 2012 and 2013 in separate post yesterday with a explanation letter. Do you think there is a chance to consider my application ? Should I send the T4 and RL1 to CPC Ottawa office ?

Any suggestion is much appreciated.

Why were you in so hurry??? You should have waited for AOR before sending additional document. Hope they find your file attach your other documents you sent. Wait for AOR before sending anything out.

The processing visa office should be CPC-Ottawa.
