Where to apply from?

Hi guys!

I am Canadian looking to sponser my Colombian common law but we currently live in Argentina....

Should we apply through Colombia because that is where he is born....or can we apply through Argentina? (it has a quicker processing time).

Any suggestions as to what is best?

if the applicant has been legally admitted to another country with a visa for more than a year, and if that's where you are living now, then yes, you can apply through Argentina.
CIC might still decide to process your application through Bogota, but you can always try. If CIC sees that you have "strong ties" to the country (you didn't move there just because it has shorter time etc, but you actually have your life there), then they most likely will process it through Argentina.
